Some thoughts on this model
This Guards Red Porsche GT3 is a second-generation 997 Gen2 model and is considered by some observers to be the most accomplished of the breed, launched in 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show - along with a reassuringly high price tag!
For the techies amongst you, the “Gen 2” boasted more power and torque than the Gen1 GT3, plus some very impressive performance numbers, including a 0-62mph sprint cut down to 4.1 seconds and a slightly academic top speed of 194 mph! That extra shove came courtesy of a new 3.8-litre engine, being the last of the Mezger units, producing 435 bhp at 7,900 rpm and 430 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm, improvements of 20 bhp and 25Nm respectively compared to the first-generation model.
This LHD example was originally supplied by Porsche Samasco, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (C32) on 15th April 2010, and remained in the ownership of its first lady owner until its arrival here in the UK during January 2017. It was thereupon correctly re-registered on a UK V5 and retained by the same family until July 2018. There have just been two further keepers since, with the last being a long standing client of mine who purchased it early in 2020.
Painted in Guards Red with black leather and alcantara seats, it has been very well factory optioned, really too numerous to list here, but I have included here a photograph of the Porsche "Certificate of Production" which gives a break down of the build specification.
Importantly there is a 2017 "Porsche Inspections Report" which was undertaken at 17,094 miles. This reads exceptionally well, and crucially there are NO "over-revs" logged along with NO evidence of accident damage or repair. Anything that was noted at this time has been either repaired or replaced as appropriate.
I am pleased to confirm the car has just been resubmitted for another "over revs" analysis at a local OPC, which again has returned a confirmed a zero reading.
There is a complete recorded service history, initially in country of origin and then once here, via official Porsche Service Centres (OPC's), then latterly to entrusted and renowned Porsche specialists.
The excellent people at "Parr" have been taking care of it since 2020, with the last service being within 1,500 miles. Notably they have also replaced the clutch and flywheel during 2021. One can see from invoices on file that a full geometry was undertaken and then more recently front tracking was also corrected.
This GT3 has been fully prepared for sale with recent refurbishment of all the original Porsche alloys, along with the elimination of a small number of stone chips to the front end and a complete machine polish, thus it's virtually blemish free.
It would be a pleasure to answer any questions you might have. However, to really appreciate this GT3 it needs to be seen “in the flesh”, so do please call me directly on 07788 865700 to arrange a viewing.
