Some thoughts on this model
Before you read the narrative below, please be aware the car has covered just 13,000 miles from new.
Its become very difficult to find or offer really good examples of Porsche's 944 nowadays, most are simply just average in both body and mechanics and have covered considerable mileage too.
However, this particular 944 is wholly remarkable and certainly significantly raises the bar to 'exceptional' on all three of these counts, plus pleasingly, remaining completely faithfully to its factory build....perhaps down to the fact it has only cover a smidgeon over 13,000 miles from new!
Ordered and delivered via official Porsche Centre, Swinford Motors, West Midlands to its first owner on 7th May 1982. The Porsche issued COA on file confirms the build and specified optional equipment. Oddly the last and the only other 944 I have sold was delivered new by the same dealer.
The Alpine white (P1P1) positively gleams and as you would expect is without fault. I absolutely love the Pasha interior, again it's entirely faultless and looks and smells like new. All aspects of the car are in exemplarily condition including the 'cookie-cutters alloys which again perfectly place it the 1980's.
There's a multitude of extras, all of which I'm sure Porsche charged a fortune for in period, but today you would find standard on a modest Polo! Nevertheless, everything works as it should and I love the Panasonic radio cassette, at least you can see the buttons!
One can see this is a very special 944 that has only had 3 former keepers, with all three being good chums and only passing from one to another due to constant harassment by the latter....its certainly been used but only in dry weather and it would be shame to spoil it now, that said, these things are so much better for being driven, thus it happily handle regular use and perhaps better for it.
Talking diligent ownership, its has just returned from a Porsche Specialist, literally carte blanche given to the tune of £2202 spent preparing it for its next owner, nothing other to do than enjoy!,
The correct hand books remain in its original Porsche wallet, plus all keys together with a good written history, all of which help support my opinion that it would win hands down if entered in any concours events.
It would be a pleasure to answer any questions you might have. However, to really appreciate this fabulous Porsche it needs to be seen “in the flesh”, so do please call me directly on 07788 865700 to arrange a viewing at our new Redhill showroom.
