Some thoughts on this model
The Twin-Cam was introduced midway through 1958 and the 1588cc unit was rated at a healthy 108bhp at 6,700 rpm providing the car with excellent period performance. the suspension was by independent coil springs at the front and a live axle with leaf springs at the rear. Additional sporting overtones amounted to a close ratio gearbox and all round disc brakes.
Previous keepers have all been enthusiastic owners, insomuch the current owner races an MGB, whilst his predecessor owned the car from 1962 until 2013 and had during 2002 both Mike Fisher and Bob west attend to body & chassis.
Courtesy of marques specialist, Oselli Ltd, the current owner has had a complete full engine rebuild...pleasingly there's a detail invoice of these works amounting to £6,300.
Adding further to this car's appeal is the fitment of a slick 5 speed gearbox.
The glacier blue paintwork was refreshed some 10 years and remains in an unmarked condition, as does the interior, which again is in fine fettle. A full tonneau, hood and side screens all come with car., everything works as it should and the twin Cam engine is certainly a little gem.
Usage has been limited to around the roads of West Sussex and Cornwall, where its been entered on a number of local events and gentle rallies...there's RS 2.7 Lightweight, in the garage when he really wants to push on !!
This MGA is certainly pleasing to the eye and huge fun to drive.
It would be a pleasure to answer any questions you might have. However, to really appreciate this MGA, it needs to be seen “in the flesh”, so do please call me directly on 07788 865700 to arrange a viewing.
