Some thoughts on this model
This DB2 was manufactured in 1952 & delivered and subsequently sold by Aston Martin main agents, Brooklands of Bond Street. It was discovered by its third keeper as a barn find in 1983. We understand it was purchased with an intent to restore the car, alas the project was never started.
It was then successfully purchased in 2012 by a established racer come collector who appointed Goldsmith & Young to undertake a complete body off restoration which took the thick end of 3 years to finish.
The result of which you can see here is an almost perfect DB2. It looks quite wonderful in the period colour of Mist Grey, whilst its interior has been both beautifully appointed & upholstered in Fawn leather. The DB2 sits on a 4 exquisitely made Turrino wired wheels. A perfect combination.
The level of restoration, together with the cars authenticity, was of such a high & uncompromising standard, that it was selected as the poster car for the 2018 Goodwood Revival, plus featuring on numerous digital bill boards throughout the UK.
