This lovely MK2 forms a part of a lovely trio of Mini Coopers, each of which are certainly amongst the very best examples I've had the pleasure of offering over the years.

Really exciting to have this very original and outstanding Mk2 Cooper S 1293cc which was modified by the Special Tuning department at Abingdon; interestingly this department was literally next to the competition department responsible for the Monte Carlo winning Works cars.

It has the Special Tuning twin carburettors, exhaust manifold and a balanced tuned 1293cc engine. It's certainly a little a pocket rocket, with an flexible engine that is both equally well behaved in traffic & very fast too when conditions allow! Certainly its totally additive to drive, offering a great induction noise and rapid acceleration, plus it steers & stops as you would expect an Abingdon Special Tuning car to do.

Importantly there is email trail from period AST engineers who remember the car, which happily authenticates its pedigree and ST status, along with sufficient mots and history, to verify its low mileage.

Very minimal ownership over the years, with one dedicated owner of 39 years only relinquishing it when he turned 94! A beautifully original car that has never been welded and remains in really stunning condition.
