Some thoughts on this model
Often referred to as the Series 5, it features Weber electronic fuel injection and is instantly recognisible by the absence of the bonnet power bulge. Weber fuel injection only provided a small improvement in performance and power, but did add additional refinement and tractability plus some well-needed improvement in fuel economy.
Each of the last three enthusiastic owners has entrusted its upkeep to John Watson of Chicane Classics, who has carefully engineered and added performance upgrades - a completely new sequential injection system and more recently a rebuilt gearbox plus an overhaul of the air-conditioning system have all been undertaken.
A recent entrant on a European Rally this Summer, this remarkably good driving V8 EFI used its prodigiuos torque to out gun many more nimble competitors on the high peaks including the 'Singer'you see in one of the photographs.
This V8 is finished in one the most attractive colour combinations of Chichester Blue with fawn piped blue leather. Having only covered 64,400 miles with a known Aston Martin Heritage, Works Service and Specialist Dealer history, including a Works Unleaded Conversion, this V8 certainly looks very appealing on its upgraded and unblemished Ronals. A recent installation of a period Blaupunt with built-in bluetooth connectivity, pleasingly eliminates unsightly handfree dash additions.
